This is Duncan. Not my beautiful little 11 year-old nephew that I call my donut. But my new friend, Duncan, the Great Dane!

This morning, an amazing man named Dwayne shared his incredible story with us on the Z Morning Zoo. He is currently awaiting a heart transplant at the young age of 37. His awesome wife Shannon and two beautiful daughters are his support. He wanted nothing from us. Perhaps a prayer, but what he really wanted to talk about was his passion for MAGDRL.

MAGDRL is The Mid-Atlantic Great Dane Rescue League.  It was organized in 1979 to serve the seven states of the Mid-Atlantic region. Like all humane groups, MAGDRL is in the unique position of helping both humans and pets. In their case, the pets are Great Danes and mixed Dane dogs, and the people are those who have or want the companionship of the breed or, often, just dogs in general.

If you have a heart to help or are looking to adopt a dog, please check here!! www.magdrl.org

Everything is Brazilian, so you can’t understand the interviews, but this little mini Lady Gaga is too funny! It’s a reality show in Brazil called “Qual e o seu talento” and while she’s no 8 year-old Christina Agulera vocally, she is only 8 years old!! It’s amazing!! Stick around she does “Bad Romance” and “Paparazzi”.

Ever heard of Chinese Drywall? Unfortunately for many in Virginia Beach, those are the two words that are destroying their lives! A great friend of me and Sexy Jim’s is going through hell right now and we want to help families devastated by the by homes built with Chinese Drywall. The drywall is corrosive and destroys all electrical appliances making homes unliveable.

Basically there are about 150 of them and about half of them were forced into bankruptcy. The insurance companies want to be able to cancel their homeowner’s policies – which of course means they lose their mortgage.

Senate Bills 298 and 471 are bills proposed to prevent insurance companies from cancelling those policies. If folks would make just one call to Delegate Kilgore while their in their car, it would help a ton.  They are voting TODAY – Please call or email before 1pm!!

The fact is we are all affected. Our friend’s neigbors value dropped because of his house and the city of Virginia Beach is losing tax revenue. Foreclosures have also gone up because of this.

People can call Kilgore (who is the Chair of the Commerce and Labor) at 804-698-1001 or email him at deltkilgore@house.virginia.gov

Tell him to pass SB 298 and 471. Tell him we want his support in fighting the insurance companies!!

There is also a facebook page – PACE (Peoples’ Action for Chinese drywall Elimination) PACE hopes to support families by educating state and federal officials and to force legislation protecting against insurance rate increases and policy cancellations.

Every little bit helps!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!! Please do it before 1pm TODAY!!

Noel’s third birthday didn’t start out too good. She woke up at 4am and told me, “mommy…i don’t feel so goooooo-buuuuuhhh” then proceeded to barf all over my bathroom. Poor baby. So Sexy Jim kept her home from school and they snuggled until I got home, then I got to clean up some more and snuggle some more.

She did perk up enough to blow out some candles, eat some cake and wear some of her birthday presents. Isn’t the birthday girl adorable!? Oh! Bonus for mom and dad: I went to kiss the girls goodbye while they were sleeping this morning on my way out and Karrington had thrown up in her crib. Awesome.

For the first time EVER, I actually read a book. Yeah, that’s the first accomplishment. Okay, it’s not the first book I’ve ever read, but I just don’t have time to read anymore. Boo. Anyway, I finished “The Lovely Bones” while I was stuck in the DC airport for five hours on Sunday night.

Now I can go see the movie! I’ve always heard everyone say, “Oh yeah…but the book was so much better!” Well, I’ll see later this afternoon, I’m going to see the movie, staring the Oscar nominated Stanley Tucci and Mark Wahlberg! I’ll get back to ya!!

This is hilarious!! Tell me you haven’t wanted to try this yourself!!

The tipoff was the sunglasses… A New Yorker was issued a $135 traffic fine for using a mannequin as her plus-one in the high-occupancy lane of the Long Island Expressway. An alert sheriff’s deputy on Long Island became suspicious when he saw the “passenger” wearing sunglasses and using the visor. The only problem: The sky was overcast.

When he stopped the vehicle, he found the mannequin, fully dressed with a long dark wig, blazer, shirt and scarf. The 61-year-old driver left with a summons. – Would have been BRILLIANT had he not been caught. I must say, I’ve always wanted to do that!
