BRING IT! I am ready for this hurricane to come & go on its merry way. I wish that it didn’t have to head this way at ALL…but it is what it is! I have people coming into town this weekend…so I am hoping this doesn’t spoil plans. Check out my not so hot (this is ALL that was left at Target) rain boots!

But they will get the job done. I’ve got to drag in my patio furniture & my husbands surf boards. Yes, plural. Boards. I think he has…5 surf boards total! He’s a total surf nut & has been surfing everyday since this past weekend because of Earl!

Neo is the “pet” up at Casey Imports in Newport News. They boys thought it’d be a great idea for ME to feed it! I think the MEALWORM freaked me out more than the orange-bearded dragon. Thanks Russ, Carl and James for the tutorial in reptiles!

Arcade Fire have teamed up with the cool dudes at Google to create an interactive video whatnot thing for their latest single ‘We Used To Wait’. Basically, you plonk your postcode into a box and the video then uses Google Street Map to personalise what appears before you in various windows by showing pictures of things near where you live.

It’s kinda cool, and I didn’t even watch it in Google’s Chrome browser, as recommended. Take that, Google! It definitely worked in Safari, and Firefox just about managed to hold it all together, as well. As a quick demonstration of the potential of HTML5 coding, it’s quite impressive. As a demonstration of how good Arcade Fire’s new songs are, though, not so much.

The Emmy’s were on Sunday night & Tom Hanks’ wife showed up looked like a chandelier! Yes, I just wrote that! But let’s be serious…there’s A LOT of crystals going on at once!

I think it’s the shoes that throw me off- big time! Who is her stylist? Oye. What do you think of them?

The ladies of Mad Men were looking gorgeous! I especially loved January Jones’ dress. Such a powerful dress! And unique!

I know you typically make New Year’s Resolutions but I figured with any kind of change heading your way…it’s a good time to evaluate where you are in your life & start the season on a positive note…thus Fall Resolutions! Here they are:

1- Get back on track with eating healthy & working out. Joe and I have been traveling so much this summer (and we’ve had a lot of guests come through too) that it has been hard to stay on a healthy path! I have decided that I am going to become more consistent about going to Hot Yoga! This Summer I’ve been so sporadic with my attendance (no good!) and I can feel myself become weaker & have felt waistline expanding (not good, not good at all!) I feel like a marshmellow!

2- Get organized. Half the time I can’t find anything AND I feel like I am constantly flying by the seat of my pants! I need to get my calender in order & keep up with plans that I have made. I’m not typically an organized person but it’s getting to the point where I feel like I am driving myself coo coo…so time to get ORGANIZED. Anyone want to help me!? HA!

3- Save MORE money! I want a house. Bad. I am tired of my condo neighbors who think it’s cool to bang around and throw stuff around into the night. I really have no idea what they’re doing over there & I am not sure I want to know…but it is LOUD and I’m over it. Plus, we need more space. Two dogs, two adults, a little one, and a cat…lots of people/animals crammed into one space at the same time.

4- This one is random. Send more cards. I love getting mail…like REAL mail that you can OPEN with your hands (not mail that you open via your inbox on the computer!) I just think it shows people that you truly care. You care so much that you took the time to go pick out a card, write in it, buy stamps and send it off on its merry way! There’s just something special about getting mail from people that you care about.

Anyway, hopefully I can keep up with my Fall Resolutions! Have a great week!
